                        I prefer to use MSCONFIG selective startup to 

                        troubleshoot. To remove entries for good, open the 

                        registry: 

                        HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RUN 

                        and 

                        HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RUN 

                        Delete entries of unwanted startup daemons and tray 

                        procedures.
